Panulle (caramel)

The popular panulet is filled with caramel flavored white bean paste and cream cheese.
The powdered caramel makes it easy to work with white bean paste and cream cheese without making them too soft.

Material(12 pieces)

  • Pie sheet 20 x 20 cm / four flat objects (e.g. tickets, pieces of cloth, etc.)
  • Sweet white bean paste / 325g
  • Caramel powder / 35g
  • Cream cheese / 108g
  • Bitter caramel powder / 12g

Recipe

1.Thaw the pie sheet, cut into quarters and roll out to 1.8 times its original size.
2. Brush the canele mold with shortening and stick the pie sheet of (1 ) inside.
3. Cut off the overlapping part and cut off the part that protrudes more than 1.5 cm from the mold.
4. Mix white bean paste with caramel powder and divide into 12 equal portions and put into (3).
5. Mix cream cheese with bitter caramel powder and divide into 12 equal portions and put into (4).
6. Gather the cut pie sheets, stretch to 2 mm thick, and cut out rounds the size of the bottom of the canele.
7. Place the pie sheet of (6) on top of the canelet of (5) and cover with the remaining pie sheet to close it tightly.
8. Bake in a preheated oven at 230℃ for 25 minutes.
9. Allow to cool on a mesh before unmolding.
10. Press the bottom lightly after baking to flatten or cut.
